ere is America's choice: the WhisperWood Cottage Guest Bath makeover. You were able to see past this contestant's rough exterior and see the true potential within. (Did you miss the contestant auditions? And the judge's comments?) Now, mind you, this bath comes from humble beginnings and still leads a modest lifestyle. There are no high-end materials or any extra-creative ideas...just a few special tweaks to make it not so...um...icky?

The Overview
What stayed untouched:
- shower/tub surround
- ceiling

- accessories
What received a makeover:
- walls taped, mudded, and painted
- door painted white
- cabinet painted white
What's new:
- toilet & sink (almond to match the existing tub/shower surround)
- laminate countertop
- faucet
- oval frameless mirrored medicine cabinet
- wood laminate flooring
- baseboard and ceiling trim
- towel hook, toilet paper holder, towel rack, shower curtain rod
- light fixture
- heating vent cover
- doorknob & door pulls
The best part? Just change out the shower curtain, artwork, and accessories, and it has a completely different attitude! Don't believe me? Here's how it looked last summer with a few minor changes...
That's it! While it's nothing too fancy, out of the ordinary, or award-winning in any way, it is definitely a step up from what we started with. Don't you agree?
