Sunshiny Mornings and Moody Afternoons with Frank & Sammy

Did you ever notice how the mood of a room changes throughout the day? I notice it a lot in our master bedroom since the redo. There are sunshiny mornings with the sun bursting in. And there are moody afternoons where the low-lying western sun casts blue-grey shadows and interesting patterns.

The other day, I showed the desk vignette featuring an antique advertising mirror and a wire frame. What I didn't tell you was that later in the afternoon, when the sun was dropping in the sky, I grabbed my camera for some more photos.

SUNSHINY MORNING...MOODY AFTERNOON

You can see the how the morning light fills the space, while the afternoon light has its own special hue.

SUNSHINY MORNING

MOODY AFTERNOON

The morning light creates a romantic feel, while the afternoon light makes us aware of varied textures and gives a more sultry feel.

MOODY AFTERNOON

In the morning light, this wire frame played a solo act, while the afternoon sun turned it into a duo with Mr. Shadow coming to join the party. Frank and Sammy, that's your cue! You know what to do...

Me and my shadow
We're closer than pages that stick in a book
We're closer than ripples that play in a brook
Strolling down the avenue
Wherever you find him, you'll find me, just look
Closer than a miser or the bloodhound's to Liza
Me and my shadow
We're closer than smog when it clings to L.A.
We're closer than Bobby is to J.F.K.
Not a soul can bust this team in two
We stick together like glue

Thanks, Frank. Thanks, Sammy. Can we get an encore?
